Low stress inputs to milk production
Our girls are never rounded up or herded with sticks, shouting or dogs, but will in fact take themselves to the parlour (because they love the feed treats they get in there). More often than not we actually have to try and slow them down as they jostle for position in the race to the parlour twice per day. It’s quite a sight!
When their milk production drops off to a certain level, we stop milking and the ewes have dry spells between seasons. We never use hormones or any other artificial/ invasive practices to encourage milk production.
